What does that mean?
This allow you to see my reactions as I am reading so YOU can determine when/where a reader is asking question, laughing at a joke, loses focus, or gets confused.

I am happy to answer any questions, or start a back and forth discussion regarding your project if there are areas you feel need to be worked out. If I agree to beta your book, it's because I'm into the story and want to know more about it! I love discussing motivations, scenery, emotional impact of events as well as overall plot and continuity.

I do not do any editing but will point out something that catches my eye such as tense issues, missing words, etc.

I am very selective about my projects as I feel that you MUST have a good beta/writer match or the feedback is all but useless. I will read the first chapter free of charge so we can both determine if we are a good fit.

I accept the following genres:

Fantasy (pretty much any sub-genre)
Sci-Fi (pretty much any sub-genre)

I will consider other genres as I am generally more connected to a character than a plot, however I am probably not a great fit for strict romance or erotica (though I have read both and beta read for one - something may surprise me!).

No non-fiction, please.

.0005 per word
Example:
50,000 words = $25.00
100,000 words = $50.00
150,000 words = $75.00

Why so cheap?
If you have looked around, you'll not most beta readers charge $1-$3 per 1000 words. I do not because, frankly, I do not offer the in-depth services they do. I do not do full write-ups reports of main characters, plot evaluation, or offer industry advice. I just want to read your book and 'live stream' my reactions to you. If you are looking for a more robust beta reader, I have worked with several that go above and beyond I am happy to recommend:
